The WebEx integration covers two main aspects - creating a meeting using the WebEx REST API and joining a meeting using the WebEx Web SDK. Both aspects include a number of options that enable different features of the integration
Creating a meeting
These options can be changed at any point before the meeting starts, but will not be updated for any attendees that have already joined the meeting.
-
Share screen guest types - you can select one or multiple guest types that will have the permission to share their screen. Every guest with the guest type included in the list will have the option to start a screen share at any point during the meeting.
-
Host - a single guest from the guest list, that will have the ability to start the meeting, end the meeting, mute any participant, and is required to automatically allow a guest in a meeting in case the WebEx’s account settings have specified that all attendees need to be admitted.
-
Attendee Audio / Attendee Video - will allow all attendees to have their camera or microphone enabled if they wish. The host and share screen guests will have their camera / microphone enabled regardless of this setting.
-
Dial-in Option - show the automatically generated dial in options WebEx provides.
-
Automatically record meeting - as soon as the meeting starts, this will be automatically recorded by WebEx, and saved in the WebEx portal for replays.
-
Launch in external application - rather than using the Eventogy embedded version of WebEx, the user will be redirected to the standalone WebEx launch window.
Participating in a meeting
As a participant
-
Once the meeting has started, a user can join the active meeting. Depending on the settings of the meeting, they will join with the camera and microphone on, with the option to mute/turn camera off at any point.
As a presenter
-
The same functionality as a participant, with the option of sharing their screen at any point.
As the host
-
The host will have the option to start the meeting. Once attendees start joining, they are automatically approved by the host.
-
The host has the option to mute any participant, and they also have the option to kick out of the meeting any other participant.
-
Like the presenter, they can share their screen.
-
The host has the option to leave the meeting, keeping the meeting active, or ending the meeting, which disconnects all other attendees.
